The story behind the name

Turning Pointe brings together Cara's background in dance and her practice of acupuncture.

Meet Cara

Experience, with a personal approach.

Cara Robino brings 10 years of practice and a background in professional dance to her in-home acupuncture work on Long Island. Her approach is shaped by an interest in movement and by her training in Chinese medicine.

Every visit is with Cara. Treatment is tailored to your health history, goals, and response to care, rather than following a routine that is the same for everyone.

Your visit

A little preparation.
A space to rest.

No travel to a clinic and no drive home afterward. Receive care in a familiar setting.

  1. Start with a conversation

Share your town and general scheduling questions. Cara can discuss availability and whether an in-home appointment is a good fit.

  2. Agree the details

Fees, visit length, and any travel charge are confirmed before you book. Cara will explain how to prepare and complete the necessary patient paperwork.

  3. Receive care at home

Cara brings a portable treatment table and supplies. There is time to discuss your needs before treatment, and time to rest during it.

  4. Discuss what comes next

At the end of the visit, you can talk about your response to treatment, any practical suggestions, and whether a follow-up makes sense.

The practice

Treatments tailored to you.

Acupuncture is at the heart of the practice. Other techniques may be included when appropriate, with the approach explained before treatment.

You do not need to choose a technique in advance. The first step is a conversation about your needs.

Practical questions

Before you book.

Where does Cara visit?

Serving Nassau and Suffolk counties. Just outside the area? Please inquire; visits may be possible depending on your location and availability.

What does a visit cost?

Fees, visit length, and any travel charge are confirmed before you book. Please inquire for details. You can also ask about payment arrangements before confirming an appointment.

What space do I need at home?

A quiet, private space with room for a portable treatment table is a good starting point. Discuss the setup with Cara before your visit, including stairs, access, parking, or pets that may affect it.

Do I need to choose a treatment?

No. Cara will discuss an approach based on your health history and goals, explain the proposed techniques, and answer your questions before treatment.

How long should I allow?

Visit length is agreed before booking. Let Cara know whether you are asking about a first appointment or a follow-up so she can explain what to expect.

What about my usual medical care?

Acupuncture complements, but does not replace, care from your physician. New York requires acupuncturists to advise patients about the importance of consulting a licensed physician and to document that advice in the patient paperwork.
